ABOUT
Established in 2008, the University of Hawai`i at Hilo's Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy (DKICP) Annual Health Fair is DKICP's largest single community outreach event put on by student pharmacists.
It began as a small humble event organized by students in the American Pharmacists Association - Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) in 2009 and was held at the DKICP modular campus. The goal of the event was for student pharmacists to utilize their skills and knowledge gained in the classroom to give back to the Hilo community in the form of free health education and health screenings. This remains the goal of the Health Fair today.
In 2013 the DKICP Annual Health Fair was moved to the Prince Kuhio Plaza to bring the event to a more publicly accessible location. Every year, hundreds of attendees are provided with free health education booths and health screenings put on by DKICP student pharmacists, numerous health-driven community organization booths, entertainment and demonstrations geared toward healthy living. We're honored to be able to provide this free event to our Hilo community each year and are grateful for the numerous community organizations and businesses that partner with us to make this event possible.
